Types of treatments

Removable Appliances: It is possible to take a removable habit modification appliance in and out of the mouth. These require complete compliance and will only work if the patient is willing to wear them.
Fixed Appliances: A habit-correcting appliance fixed in the mouth cannot be easily removed. This eliminates the wear compliance issues that strong habit formers face. However, adjusting to eating, speaking, and cleaning may be challenging since they cannot be removed.
